Ramping with MIRO

MIRO enables you to accurately position the probe tip over a selected spot on the sample to obtain force curve measurements.

 
  1. Obtain an optical image in MIRO.
  1. Click Engage
  1. Select the Ramp mode in NanoScope software.
  1. Open MIRO.
  1. Zoom and/or Pan to your desired location.
  1. Ensure that the Cursor Mode button is selected.
NOTE: In the Ramp mode, the system should automatically switch from drawing a box on click to creating a cross. If this does not occur, right click in the MIRO image and change Box to Cross:

 
  1. Click on the MIRO image to mark the location for a force curve:

  1. Click the Offset/Resize the Scan icon to move the probe tip to the desired location. The X and Y Offset locations will be updated in the NanoScope Ramp Parameters window (Expanded Mode).
  1. Select the Ramp mode again.
  1. Click a Ramp icon to start the ramp.
  1. Click a Capture icon to save the ramp data.
